I want to check in with my clients and friends to see if you are all on track with your New Years resolutions that you wrote down for this year. I know this is the time of year where you may have left those ideas/projects behind and you have not completed or even started your plan for the new year. I am here to get you back on track!
The number one resolution for the New Year is for people to get in shape. I am here to help you get your home and office in organizing shape and help you maintain your space. I am sure you are receiving documents in the mail pertaining to tax preparation for 2014. The first step I would like you to do is take all of those papers that state ‘Tax document” or 2014 summary documents and put them in a file folder. You do not need to address this paperwork at this time but at least put them in a folder to keep it together for when you start working on your taxes in the next few months.
You may have been overwhelmed with putting away holiday decorations right after Christmas and those bins and boxes may still be sitting in your guest room, living room or garage. Now is the time to complete one of your resolutions and sort and organize the bins and put them away in your area where you store your holiday decorations. Dedicate some time this weekend/week to organize them and you will feel so much better once it is done and it clears up your space.
Also by the end of January clear out the old paperwork in your file cabinets and drawers. To alleviate some room in your files, purge and shred/recycle old paperwork to make room for current paperwork. Go to the oldest paperwork first since it is the easiest to make decisions on and more than likely you will be recycling and shredding most of it.
Now is the time to refocus on your New Years resolutions and continue and complete your goals you wrote down for 2015. If you need any encouragement or advice, please don’t hesitate to ask for my help. I wish you all a successful and happy 2015!
