It is a few weeks before the holidays and I know it is getting down to the wire with getting the perfect gift for your family members, writing the holiday cards to be sent out and decorating your home for family gatherings. During this time of year I always tell my clients to write down on a daily basis the errands and things that need to be done and be REALISTIC about what you will accomplish that day. Please remember that your travel times to get around to places may be extended and lines are longer so be organized with your travel routes!
When the kids are home for the holidays it is a great time to help them get organized for the New Year. Take some time to go through their bedrooms and purge clothes that do not fit anymore or are not in the best shape and can be donated. Go through their backpacks and clean out old paperwork and books so they are prepared for any new classes in 2015. If they receive new toys or games for the holiday, look at the old games and toys and see if there are some that they don’t play with anymore or the game pieces are missing. You can then donate the toys and recycle the incomplete games.
Preparing for the holiday season and getting organized for the New Year does not have to seem like a daunting task if you just take some small projects and work on them a little bit at a time. Or some of my clients like to spend a few days in a row and get it all done. Once they start they are on a roll and just keep going! If you do have some down time during this time of year, enjoy yourself and relax or if you are motivated to get some things organized, that is great news! I hope you have a great holiday season with your family and friends and I wish you a peaceful and organized 2015!
